Unit 2 Final – Blade Runner (1982) Stylized – Seb F

I wanted to try out different machine-learning/AI tools to style video in unique ways. When reading the prompts for the speed projects, I kept thinking about the movie Blade Runner. I thought it would be cool to try and style clips from the movie in various different ways.

Stylizing Using EBSynth & Photoshop

To use EBSynth, you have to split a video into frames. You then style a handful of frames, and the program fills in the ones in-between. To style frames from the video clip, I used photoshop’s oil painting filter. EBSynth then filled in the frames in between.

Stylizing Using RunwayML

RunwayML makes it very easy to use any kind of ML tool without any coding required. They have a number of stylizing models available for use, so I decided to style some clips from Blade Runner in the style of Kandinsky and Gauguin.

Interestingly, the first video (EBSynth + Photoshop) got copyright claimed by Warner Bros. However, the other two (RunwayML) did not get copyright claimed.
