NEW LENSES: Experimental Capture and Release

For my project, I really wanted to mess around with facial structure and historical photos. I started out playing around with sculptures and human faces and finding angles that worked with each person and revealed more about their identity. As I was playing around, I noticed how much just changing the eye area transformed the way a person looks.

While looking for sculptures, I came across some old paintings and photographs of people and experimented with that for a bit and found that more suitable as it created a more realistic face and allowed me to experiment with the eyes a bit. I personally found it really cool experimenting with how to fit in a different person’s face from a different time and engrain it into a modern face.

The photos I curated are meant to represent a few photographs that were found in a time capsule that is found with scraps of images that are put together to represent human faces.
