NEW LENSES: Experimental Capture and Release

Initially I wanted to work with the various screenshots of text messages I’ve received from friends and family. I’ve since evolved the project and instead decided to use the taken out of context funny/confusing texts I’ve received and put them in the format of movie screencaps to make movie ‘scenes’ that seem nonsensical or totally in/appropriate.

Instead of using random movies/characters, I asked each of the text’s sender for their favorite movie or tv show and the character they identify with. I wanted to make it as visually similar to movie screenshots I’d see on Instagram, Pinterest by using the yellow text, etc

I was hoping to get more people involved if I decide to flesh this project out more.
